History

The Galleria Journey:
celebrating 30 Years of Exceptional Hospitality, Artistic Expression, and Rich Persian Heritage.
How it all started
1995
Opened in 1995
Atta and Bahar Bidarbakht opened what was originally called CaféGallery—a humble pastry kitchen that soon evolved into a coffee shop. But CaféGallery was never just a place to eat; it was Atta’s art studio, where he trained students in oil painting and surrounded guests with his stunning works. The fusion of art and hospitality made it a truly unique space.
2002
The birth of Galleria Restaurant
CaféGallery transitioned into Galleria Restaurant, introducing finer dining and authentic Persian cuisine. While Atta’s studio moved to a separate location, his artwork remained on the walls, preserving Galleria’s artistic and cultural history. This was also when Bahar’s cooking became the heart of Galleria, with signature dishes like her rich, slow-cooked Fesenjan and fragrant Albalo polo becoming guest favorites.
2007
Galleria’s catering
The demand for Persian cuisine had grown beyond the Persian community, and Ali Bidarbakht, son of Atta and Bahar, stepped in with a vision to expand Galleria’s reach through catering. Galleria Catering was born, transforming traditional Persian dishes into elegant canapés, finger foods, and luxurious event platters, introducing Persian flavors to corporate events, private parties, and high-profile gatherings.
2020
symbol of generosity and hospitality
When the pandemic hit, the family made the difficult decision to close Galleria after 25 years to keep everyone safe. However, the catering business continued, providing meals for hospitals, nurses, and those in need. Galleria remained true to its essence, not just as a business but as a symbol of generosity and hospitality.
2025
Galleria reopened
2025
After years of customer demand, Galleria reopened in Bayswater, marking 30 years of hospitality, happiness, memories, and incredible food. From a small pastry shop to an art-filled café, from a family-run restaurant to a catering service that touched lives, Galleria remains more than just a place to eat—it is a legacy. As it enters its next chapter, Galleria continues to bring people together and grow once again with the love and support of its community.
